By furthering protections for our public safety canines, this bill ensures they receive the dignity and care they deserve. Under AB 463, emergency medical services would be permitted to transport police canines injured in the line of duty to veterinary clinics, if no human requires medical attention from the ambulance. This legislation recognizes the vital role police canines play in our law enforcement and ensure they receive timely medical care if injured while protecting their communities.
